Beans, Brew & Vines

If you’re keen to sample a quality locally produced beverage or three,  Launceston has plenty to enjoy.

Whether it be an award-winning cellar door experience at Josef Chromy, just 15 minutes from the centre of the City, a long black at Amelia Espresso – with beans fresh from local roaster Ritual Coffee –  or a tasty brew of the amber variety at Saint John Craft Beer Bar, we have no doubt that you won’t go thirsty.

Launceston and the Tamar Valley boast over 30 vineyards - Chardonnay, Riesling,  Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir are all grown here, along with sparkling wines that are considered equal to those from Champagne. The region, famed for its cool-climate wines, is now also home to a growing number of beer and cider producers, ranging from the historical Boag’s BreweryRed Brick Cider House, right through to micro craft brewers such as Van Dieman Brewing.
